LEADERS OF FUTURE
“Need For Men Of Vision” (N.Z. Preus Association) WELLINGTON, Mar. 19. New Zealand’s need in the coming years for men with vision and well-informed minds adapted to rapidly changing world conditions, was referred to bv Mr P. N. Holloway, the former Minister of Industries and Commerce, at Heretaunga last night. Speaking at a social given him by Labour Party supporters before his departure on an overseas tour, Mr Holloway said that on such men would rest the responsibilitv for guiding New Zealand to a position where she could prosper and compete on terms of equality without the need for the preferential treatment she now enjoyed within the Commonwealth, especially with the United Kingdom. Mr Holloway said he intended to travel widely and to acquaint himself closely with the thinking and aspirations of other countries mainly those to whom New Zealand might have to look for trade and economic exchange in the years to come Speaking of his own future Mr Holloway said he could only _ affirm one thing with certainty—his firm intention to return to New Zealand to settle.
He said he would again ser\ 0 in whatever capacity opportunity offered. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr Nash) said he hoped to see Mr Holloway back in active politics.
