Date Soon For Resumption (N ZP. A.-Reuter—Copyright) WASHINGTON, Mar. 19 The United States and the Soviet Union was approaching agreement on a date for resumption of disarmament negotiations, the United States Ambassador to the United Nations (Mr Adlai Stevenson) said yesterday. Mr Stevenson told reporters. after a meeting with President Kennedy and top diplomatic officials, that he hoped to make some progress on other aspects of disarmament this week. The question of the date. Mr Stevenson said, was “one of the aspects of the discussions that we are closer on than some of the others" The Secretary of State (Mr Dean Rusk) also attended the two-hour White House meeting Mr Rusk. Mr Stevenson. and others later met the Soviet Foreign Minister (Mr Andrei Gromyko). Mr Stevenson said the White House meeting and the luncheon date with the Soviet spokesman were “unrelated.”
. The White House conversations, he said, ranged over some of the problems that were pending in the United Nations. They did not relate specifically to the Laotian situation.
