Radios And Cash Stolen
(From Our Own Reporter) TIMARU, February 20.
Two transistor radios and a tape - recorder, collectively valued at £ll4 10s, and £1 17s in cash, were removed from Charles Begg and Company, Ltd., 200 Stafford street, Timaru, between 7.25 p.m. on Sunday and 8 a.m. today. Entry was gained by forcing a side window of a storeroom at the rear of the premises, and by forcing a dividing door. The intruders took 7s from a cash box in the theatre booking office, and also obtained £1 10s from the office. The transistor sets were removed from the window and the tape-recorder was taken from a display stand. Apparently the thieves left by a side door leading on to the arcade.
