LANCASTER PARK PROTEST
Support From Union
“Strong support” to the committee which has been set up in protest against the decision of the Victory Park Board to ban a touring English Association Football team from playing on Lancaster Park was given by the Christchurch branch of the New Zealand Tramway Workers’ Union at its recent meeting. “Members considered that the park board committee had adopted a very dictatorial attitude, in complete opposition to the great body of public opinion,” said the branch secretary (Mr L. C. J. Southon).
