VANDALS WRECK TENT
Gospel Mission In Invercargill
(NX. Press Association) INVERCARGILL, Feb. 20. Vandals last night wrecked the tent mission of the Gospel Messengers on the Doon street Reserve in Invercargill. First they went inside the 60ft by 30ft tent and did as much damage as they could. Then they cut the guy ropes and the tent collapsed. It was certainly the worst instance of vandalism that the mission had encountered on its New Zealand travels, said Pastor H. S. James, of the Apostolic Church of New Zealand, this morning. On Friday night some of the ropes holding up the tent were slashed," but last night real havoc was caused. No estimate of the damage done could be given this morning, but new ropes had to be bought before the tent could be erected again.
