BORGWARD CAR CO.
No Drop In Production
The reorganised ■ Borgward Car Company, with its increased capital, is “stronger than ever before,” and does not intend to reduce production in any of the plants under its control. This is stated in a letter from the company to Borgward distributors, a copy of which has been received in Christchurch. The letter claims that press reports of the firm's difficulties earlier in the year had damaged the firm’s prospects in certain markets.
The Bremen City Government in January set up a DM5Om (£4m) company to take over the company, which employs about* one-quarter of the city's workers. Dr. Carl Borgward and his wife handed over control of the company to the city.
