BOYS’ BRIGADE BATTALION
More Members Last Year
One new company was added to the Canterbury Battalion of the Boys' Brigade between December 1. 1959, and November 30, 1960, according to the report of the president (Mr J. L. Bush) at the annual meeting last evening. The new company is the 9th Christchurch Company with its headquarters at St Peter’s Anglican Church. Upper Ricca rton. The 17th Christchurch company went into recess during the year. There are now 27 companies in the battalion with 729 boys in them. There were 28 the year before with 866 boys. The number of Life Boys also increased with 749 boys in i 960 and 698 in 1959. There are still 24 teams.
Sewer Outfall,— Plans for the extension of the present sewer outfall, near the Shaw Savill and Albion Company's wool-store at Lyttelton, were approved at last evening's meeting of the Lyttelton Borough Council. The cost to the council of the extension will be £BBB. The new 18in outfall will run east of the new harbour reclamation scheme:
