Visitors Go To Ashburton
About 300 overseas visitors to the inter-Dominion trotting championships were the guests of the Ashburton and Methv«n Trotting Clubs yesterday. They were entertained at luncheon in a large marquee at the Ashburton racecourse early in the afternoon and later watched a parade of 10 yearlings to be sold in Christcnurch next week.
it The’ visitors were welcomed by the president of the Ashburton S ub <Mr A J NicoU) and the Mayor (Mr J. Davidson). The president of the Christchurch Metropolitan ’•'rotting Club (Mr J. K. Davidson) expressed the appreciation of the guests. After the yearling parade, some of the visitors were taken on a bus trip to the Winchmore irrigation research station.
