Mrs T. H. C Cumberbeach, of Timaru. Dominion president of the National Council of Women from 1954 to 1958, died this evening in Timaru after a short illness. Born in Sydney, in 1898, Mrs Cumberbeach had a lifelong interest in women’s affairs. and during her
Dominion presidency, the National Council of Women showed an expansion of branches from 20 to 32, the greatest increase of any period smee its inception. She travelled extensively throughout New Zealand in the interests of the organisation. She is survived by her husband and four daughters, Mesdames L. G. Morrison (Wellington). T. K. Markwick ’Auckland). L. Weston (Dunedin). and H Wilson (Millerton).
