U.S. TO SEEK DAMAGES
Suits Against
Big Firms
WASHINGTON. February 9. The Attorney-General (Mr Robert Kennedy) announced today that the United States Government would file damage suits against the electrical firms sentenced earlier this week for price fixing and rigging contracts. At least 20 agencies of the Government purchased) equipment from the 29 manufacturers of heavy electrical equipment who were sentenced in Philadelphia to fines totalling nearly two million dollars. Under the law, the Federal Government may sue for actual damages for anti-trust violations.
