British Bowls Team Arrives This Week
Making its first tour of New Zealand, the British bowlipg team is expected to arrive in Christchurch on Friday. In the past, tours of the Dominion have been very short, as the visitors always toured Australia first.
This season, the tourists will be in New Zealand for more than two months and will play in practically every centre. The party, which arrived on December 20, consists of 25 players. 10 of whom are act companied by their wives The president of the Canterbury Bowling Centre (Mr M. Le Cren) will act as host. The tourists will be taken on a conducted tour on Friday afternoon. On Saturday morning they will be officially •welcomed at the Christchurch Bowling CJub by the senior vce-president of the New Zealand Bowling Association 'Mr W R- Featherston*. They xi 11 play at Christchurch in the morning and at Opawa in the afternoon. In the evening they will be guests at a civic reception at the Opawa P The°captam is Mr T. W.
