Memorial Race To Aly Khan

The late Aly Khan, who died in tragic circumstances last spring, has had a final tribute paid to him by the "Saints and Sinners” Club, which organises a charity meeting at Kempton in England in July each year. The tribute takes the form of a memorial race in his name and it will carry with it £lO.OOO added to the stakes. The winner, in addition to the prize money, will receive a gold cup. value £4OO, presented by the Aga Khan. The £lO.OOO is made up of contributions by the “Saints and Sinners” Club and £5OOO by friends of the late Aly Khan. The race, over a mile and a half, is for three-year-olds and upwards, three-year-olds to carry 8-4 and older horses 9-4. Fillies and mares are allowed 31b. Aimed at attracting runners from overseas, the Aly Khan International will carry with it substantial travelling grants of up to £7OO for horses from Canada, the United States. South Africa.
