SYDNEY, January 24. The leading jockey, G. Moore, who has decided not to renew a contract to ride again in France, will be the rider of Tulloch for the rest of his career. This was announced today by the trainer, T. Smith. The decision severs the successful N. Sellwood-Tulloch combination. Smith said A. Mulley would continue to be his first jockey for other horses, until the end of the season. "Moore then will take over.” he added. “There will be no contract with Moore—only a gentleman’s agreement, which as worked well enough in the past.” Moore also will replace Sellwood as the jockey of the unbeaten filly Cymbal. Although Moore was associated with Tulloch in many of his big wins before the champion was forced to retire for nearly two years through illness, Sellwood also was successful on Tulloch when he was a three-year-old. Among other races, Sellwood piloted him to victory in the Caulfield Cup. When Tulloch made a comeback to racing in March last year Sellwood was his jockey, and has been on him at all of his 13 starts since. His wins in that period included the Queen’s Plate. at NEW ZEALAND METROPOLITAN TROTTING CLUB INC. The FINAL withdrawal for the INTER-DOMINION CHAMPIONSHIP ONLY closes with the undersigned, on Friday next. January 27, at 4 pun. D. C. PARKER. Secretary. —Advt
Flemington, the Randwick Queen Elizabeth Stakes, and a string of wefght-for-age events. Smith said today that Moore’s decision to remain in Australia had influenced him to make the riding switch. "Moore has ridden hundreds of winners for me, and now he is back to stay I am glad he has accepted the offer to ride Tulloch,” he added. “Tulloch is to finish racing at the end of this season, and I hope Moore’s renewed association with him will climax a great racing career.”
