FORECAST TO MIDNIGHT
Situation.—A deep depression is centred east of the Chatham Islands while an anti-cyclone lies over the Tasman Sea. Forecast:— Marlborough and Nelson.—Fresh to strong southerly winds about coastal Marlborough, but elsewhere moderate and variable, with afternoon sea breezes; partly cloudy, with moderate temperatures. Outlook: showers. West Coast.—Moderate variable winds; fine and mild. Outlook: a few showers. Canterbury.—Moderate southerly winds tending north-easterly in the afternoon; partly cloudy, with mild temperatures. Outlook: showers.
