WAIRIO CUP SWAB
Positive From Ocean Roll (New Zeeland Press Anoetattoni INVERCARGILL, January 2. Ocean Roll, which won the Wairio Cup, main event at the Wairio Jockey Club's meeting on November 12, has returned a positive swab. This information was released today by Mr J. E. Cuthill, secretary of the Wairio club. Ocean Roll, which was ridden by L. W. Hare, led from end to end. She won by two lengths from Solus and Melotone. A six-year-old Kurdistan mare from Southern Sea, she Is owned by Mr G .D. McKenzie, and trained at Gore by R. J. Cochrane. This was Ocean Roll’s second Wairio Cup success. Ocean Roll was scratched by the stewards of the club for the Wyndham Cup today. >
