EYE-WITNESS No. 1
1 Styles of writing for the newspapers have changed considerably over the years, but good reporting—the ability to convey the scene of current happenings vividly to the reader’s mind—does not change. In this, the first of a series of accounts of memorable happenings since Waterloo, “The Press” reprints the report of Napoleon’s departure for St. Helena exactly as it appeared in “The Times,” London. The author is unknown. Acknowledgement is made, for the permission to reprint these article?, to the “Sydney Morning Herald.”
