Phillips share the lead, with 4J points each, after five rounds in the New Zealand chess championships at Auckland. R. A. Court, of Wellington, has won all five games to date in the reserve championship. W. Reindler. of Te Awamutu, is only half a point behind and will play Court in the sixth round.
