(N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, December 28
The visiting South African Rugby Union side continued its unbeaten run today when it beat a Midland Counties side by 16 to 5. at Birmingham. A crowd of about 15.000 saw the game played in drizzling rain. The Springboks again made good use of their hefty pack and outplayed the strong Counties forwards. The first score came after 18 minutes when the Springboks, after a penalty up-and-under kick, stormed across for Du Toit to score. Du Preez failed to convert.
From the kick-oil the Springboks scored again. A pass by Roux to Englebrecht appeared to be forward but his try was allowed. Du Preez kicked the conversion. For South Africa, Du Toit, Engelbrecht, Du Preez. and H. J Van Zyl scored tries and Du Preez kicked two conversions. Reynolds scored the Midlands try and Cole kicked the conversion.
