NOT GUILTY OF DESERTION
Court-Martial At Burnham A sentence of four months’ detention was imposed on Private James Charles Sewell, of the Royal New Zealand Ordnance Army, Corps, who is stationed at the Southern District Ordnance Depot, when he was found guilty of being absent without leave from July 11 to November 16, by a court-martial held at Burnham Military Camp. Sewell was originally charged with desertion but was found not guilty. He was convicted of being absent without leave. He pleaded not guilty to the charge of desertion. The sentence is subject to confirmation. The Court consisted of Major R. de la Cour (president) and Captains D. G. Rodda and B. M. Stanton. The prosecuting. officer was Captain G. W. Dudman and Major R. D. Yetton was the defending officer. The Judge Advocate was Major G. C. C. Sandston.
