U.K. SOCCER STRIKE
Midland Players To Join (N.Z. Press Association—Copyright) LONDON, Dee. 16. Professional soccer players from England’s Midland clubs voted in Birmingham yesterday in favour of a strike. They joined players in the north and south of England in a fight for better wages and conditions. Almost all the 500 players who attended rallies in London on Monday an 4 Manchester on Wednesday supported the strike—which is planned to start on January 14— and yesterday only about 12 of 200 were against action.
