CURRENT NOTES
Waitaki Old Girls.— A musical programme and competitions, carol singing, and a film were arranged by the hostess (Mrs O. H. Walker). for the Christmas party of the Christchurch branch of the Waitaki High School Old Girls’ Association, held recently. The cake was cut by Miss M. Reese, whose first teaching appointment was at Waitaki Girls’ High School. The president (Mrs J. L. Bush) distributed gifts from , the lighted Christmas tree.
Gold Star Mothers’ Club.— Mrs E. Peters presided at the Christmas party of the ChristGold Star Mothers’ Club. Entertainment was provided by thd following; Mrs G. Dorans (vocal solos); Mesdames E. Storie and F. Arps (piano solos). Community carol singing was led by Mrs Dorans. The accompanist was Mrs F. Arps. The Christmas cake was presented by the secretary (Mrs E. Young), and cut by Mrs A. Blackmore.
