Bequests To Charity
A bequest of £250 to the church wardens of St. Luke's Church for the general purposes of the parish is contained in the will of William Stanley Richards, a land agent, who died in Christchurch on November 3. His estate has been sworn for probate at under £150.000. John Ross McGregor, a schoolteacher. , who died on November 25, has left £5O to St. Augustine’s Church, Cashmere. The will also contains bequests of £5O to the New Zealand Missionary Society for use in the society’s work in Tanganyika, and to the Canterbury. Marlborough. Nelson and Westland branch of the British Empire Cancer Campaign Society. Mr McGregor’s will makes two bequests of £2O each to the Napier Boys’ High School and St. Andrew’s College, the money to be used to buy books for the schools' libraries.
His estate was sworn for probate at under the value of £3500.
