U.S. Action For Halt Urged BATON ROUGE -(Louisiana), December 18 A member of the Senate Foreign Relations Committee. Senator Russell Long, has suggested that the United States stop buying Canadian oil as long as Canada continues trading with Cuba z Senator Long said the Cuban Government merely turned to Canada when the United States imposed an economic embargo against the Government of Dr Fidel Castro. Cuba was receiving * “everything this country is denying it—particularly replacement parts for industries” it had nationalised. Senator Long told the Baton Rouge Chamber of Commerce yesterday. “The Canadians would have a foot-race to Washington to tell us they were quitting dealing with Castro if the halt in Canadian oil purchases was made,” he said
