MIGRANTS FROM SOUTH AFRICA
N.Z. Urged To Give Transport Aid

New Zealand could attract many skilled immigrants from South Africa if the Government introduced a scneme of assisted immigration similar to that operated by the Australian Govern* ment and if New Zealand was publicised more effectively in South Africa, said Dr. R. Brooks, an English biochemist who arrived. this week from South Africa to join the staff of Massey Agricultural College. The main obstacles to leaving South Africa were the cost and shortage of transport, he said. A lecturer at the University of Cape Town for the last four years, Dr. Brooks has taken up a similar position in the biochemistry department of Massey College,
