COMMERCIAL Local Shares Head Gains On Stock Exchange
Hay’s shares, which sold 6d higher at 41s on Tuesday, rose further to sell at 42s 3d in business on the Christchurch Stock Exchange yesterday. New Zealand Refrigerating (2s 6d up at 42s 6d) and Farrier-Waimal: (Is 3d up at 20s 9d) also made good gains. Southland Frozen Meat, South British-Insurance, Wright, Stephenson, Felt and Textiles (Australia), 8.H.P., Wilsons Cement and Prudential Building were also (inner. Commercial Bank of Australia, Mutual Benefit, Farmers’ Trading, G. J. Coles, Reid Murray and Woolworths sold at lower prices. Turnover was above average.
