HOLIDAY RAIL SERVICES
Association Promises No Disruption (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 15. There will be no disruption of railway time-tables during the Christmas-New Year holidays, the president of the New Zealand Locomotive Engineers’, Firemen, and' Cleaners’ Association (Mr A. C. Munro) said in Auckland tonight. The public were entitled to know that, as far as his association was concerned, that would be the case, he said. Early next month, the association would hold talks with the Minister of Railways (Mr McAlpine) on the last pay increases granted by the Railways Industrial Tribunal. Last month the Wellington branch of the association decided to stop work because it was not satisfied with the increases, but after talks with Government leaders it withdrew its plans for the stoppage.
