Farmers’ Cars
Sir, —If “Why not a Cart before a Horse?” interviews any taxi driver he will realise how stupid 14,000 miles is. Most taxi proprietors keep their cars over 200,000 miles. I suggest a £2OOO car doing only 14.000 to 15,000 miles would cost 3s a mile in depreciation, not allowing running costs, petrol, etc. I take exception to the words, “In New Zealand it looks as if people have no sense for cars because they love stinking old rubbish tins.”—Yours, etc., A. A. PARKIN. Dec. 9, 1960.
