Auckland’s Plunket Shield Side (New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, December 11. The Auckland cricket selectors held to their declared policy of naming only in-form players when they announced their 13-strong team for the first two representative matches of the season—against the M.C.C. tourists and the Plunket Shield match against Northern Districts. The team is: A. Clark (captain), D. Andersen, R. Morgan. P. McGregor, E. Giles, J. Sparling, R., Cunls, J. Marsdon, G. Gedye, K. Deas, R. Tovey, J. Kemp, and B. Norman. The team is the youngest to represent Auckland for several years. It looks strong in batting, but the bowling is rather suspect. Schoolboy Matches Recent competition matches for primary schoolboys, organised by the Canterbury Cricket Association, resulted as follows: Lancaster Park Q 84 (Bhana 29; Kerkvliet - seven for 49) and 6 for two beat Xavier 62 (Knox 8 for 14) and 44 (Withers 25; Bhana five for 10) on the first innings. St. Albans 104 for four declared (Queree 53 not out, Hall 30) and 83 for two declared (Hall 23 not out, Spicer 23, not out) beat Lancaster Park B 95 (Dell 40; Hall three for 8, Queree four for 29) and 55 (Blacklock 23, Scott 21 not out; Queree three for 18, Hall four for 10) outright. Lancaster Park C 111 for eight (Bhana 23 not out; Cavendish five for 18) beat Old Collegians 94 (Cavendish 42 not out; Bhana three for 9) on the first innings. East-Shirley 54 and 47 for four (Cribb 20 not out) beat Old Collegians 40 (Abbott three for' 1, Endicott three for 3) and 56 (Anderson 26; Endicott four for 8) by six wickets. Old Collegians 65 (Walker 25; Gunn three for 14, Hern three for 17) beat St. Albans 18 (Walker four for 8) and 18 for three on the first innings. Old Collegians 65 for four* (Walker 21 not out) beat East Christchurch 55 for five declared (Gower 36 not out) on the first innings.
