Swimming Pool Fund At Hospital By the end of this week, £7OO should be in hand towards the building of a staff swimming pool _at the Princess Margaret Hospital. The money is being raised by a committee representing all sections of the hospital staff, including doctors and nurses, under the chairmanship of Dr. A. F. Burry. It is planned to build the swimming pool in the staff recreation area behind the nurses' home; right at the foot of Cashmere hill. The North Canterbury Hospital Board will provide a recreation hall and tennis courts in this area, but the provision of the swimming pool is dependent on money raised by the staff itself. A sale of work held in the hospital grounds on Saturday was fairly successful, about £230 being raised after deduction, of expenses. A raffle is also being currently run to raise funds.
