PROUD HERITAGE OF RANGI-RURU
Tributes Paid To Misses Gibson
The value of the work of the Misses Gibson at Rangi-Ruru School (which they founded) and the inspiration they gave so many generations of schoolgirls could not be estimated, said the principal of the school (Mrs M. G. Patrick) in her report presented at the prize-giving ceremony. “It is a proud heritage of Rangi-ruru,” she said. Miss Ethel Gibson’s interest in the school and the girls had remained very strong to the last. It was fitting that the prize awarded to the head of the house, where Miss Gibson lived so long and which she loved so well, should bear her name, Mrs Patrick said.
