Present gej search includes investigatioft bf molecular structure by X- ray diffraction and electron microscopy; diffusion of electrons in gases; geophysics; wei k on the upper atmosphere. The new Professor will receive every encouragement to pursue his own research interests. Arrangements may be possible for him to participate in space research near Adelaide. The University has a very active Department of Mathematical Physics. The salary now attached to the chair is £A4OOO, with superannuation on the F.S.S.U. basis. Salaries are at present under review by a committee appointed by the Australian Universities Commission. The University has a liberal study leave scheme.
