VACANT POSTS OVERSEAS
First Business Of New Cabinet (N ew Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, Dec. 9. Appointments to overseas posts are expected to be discussed at the National Cabinet’s first meeting on Monday afternoon. The Prime Minister (Mr Nash) will go to Government House at 10 a.m. on Monday to hand his resignation to the GovernorGeneral (Lord Cobham). Lord Cobham will then ask the Clerk of the Executive Council (Mr T. J. Sherrard) to invite the Prime Minister-elect (Mr Holyoake) to call on him. Lord Cobham will send his car to Parliament House for Mr Holyoake, who will go to Government House’at 11 a.m. Mr Holyoake will then be invited to form a Ministry and will hand his list of Ministers to Lord Cobham. Mr Holyoake will return to Government House with his Ministers at 2.30 p.m. for the swearing-in and the first meeting of the Executive Council. Mr Holyoake told a press conference today he will hold a Cabinet meeting when he and his Ministers return from Government House.
Later 'on Monday, Ministers will move into their new offices. “There will be plenty of work for us before the holidays,” said Mr Holyoake. “We’re anxious to grapple with the problems we’ve got before us and I see a pretty busy period between now and Christmas.”
