VICAR INSTITUTED AT ST. CHAD’S
The Rev. A. A. Purchas was instituted as vicar of the Linwood and Aranui Anglican parish in the Church of St. Chad last evening. The service was conducted by the Archdeacon of Sumner (the Ven. Archdeacon S. E. Woods), assisted by the vicar •*( New Brighton <tho Rev. Canon R. J. Witty). About 200 persons attended.
Afterwards supper was served in the parish hall. Mr Purchas was welcomed to the parish by the vicar’s warden (Mr E. D. Harrall) and the people’s warden (Dr. D. H. Cummack).
