NEW ORLEANS INTEGRATION
Police Guard Ou School (N.Z. * Press Association—Copyright) NEW ORLEANS, December 7. White mothers stood by silently today under a tight police guard as white children arrived for classes at an jntegrated school. The heaviest police precautions since violence broke out applied today and the white women were kept a block away from the school. In spite of this, white attendance at the William Frantz School dropped from 23 to 19. But again the lone negro girl. Ruby Nell Bridges, ' attended classes. After more than two weeks of screams, curses, and stoning®, the silence around William Frantz School today was startling.
A crowd of women took offence when a television cameraman began filming the children boarding buses, and began pushing and shoving him. Police advised him to leave, and he did.
