Udall As Secretary Of Interior

The United States Presidentelect (Mr Kennedy) today announced his third Cabinet appointment. He told a press conference at his New York hotel that Mr Stewart Udall, Democratic member of the House of Representatives for Arizona would be Secretary for the Interior. One of Mr Udall’s first promises was a “new deal” for the “old” Americans—the North American Indians.

Mr Keiyiedy said in a statement that Mr Udall, a 40-year-old lawyer, would bring to the position “vigour and imigination” for the important task of "developing America’s vast and abundant natural resources.”
