VICTORIAN SUBSIDY
N.S.W. Pacer To Benefit (N\Z. Press Association—Conyriqht) MELBOURNE, December 7. The Victorian Trotting Control Board has announced that it will subsidise Furtive, the New South Wales-owned and trained pacer, for the inter-Dominion Championship in New Zealand in February. Furtive’s subsidy will be £3OO. The horse is owned by Mr Harry Holmfield, vice-president of the Echuca Trotting Club. A second subsidy of £2OO has been awarded to Maestro’s Melody. The board said that although Furtive was owned and trained in New South Wales, and raced now in New South Wales, it was bred and raced in Victoria until sold last year. Furtive won the Melbourne Spring Cup on Saturday.
