Injured Albatross Lands On Ship
The 954-ton motor-ship Taranui, with drum molasses and hardwood from Bundaberg, berthed at Lyttelton yesterday with a strange passenger.
An injured albatross landed on the vessel’s foredeck off Kaikoura on Sunday morning, said the master of the Taranui (Captain H. Tyler). It stayed on the ship to Lyttelton, but yesterday morning flew away.
