SAMUEL BUTLER CENTENARY
New Book By Dr. P. B. Mating
Dr. P. B. Mating. of Christchurch. has published this month a book on Samuel Butler at Mesopotamia. which commemorates his arrival in Canterbury in 1860 and the taking up of his pastoral runs. It is published by the Government Printer for the National Historic Places Trust.
The Canterbury Museum’s librarian-archivist (Mr J. C. Wilson) described this as an important work at the Museum Trust Board's monthly meeting.
