ENGINE-DRIVERS’ PAY INCREASED
Rises Of Up To 4d An Hour Approved
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, November 18 The Government Railways Industrial Tribunal made an order today increasing the rates of pay of engine-drivers, locomotive assistants, and locomotive trainees. The increases are: Engine-driv: ers, 34d to 4d an hour; locomotive assistants, 21 d to 3d an hour, and locomotive trainees. IJd to 2d an hour.
Apart from an increase of 3|d an hour granted to engine-drivers in their seventh year of driving and an increase of 4d an hour for engine-drivers in the special grades, the tribunal’s order provides increases in line with those granted on October 3, 1960, to other employees in -the general division of the Railways Department
