Otago B.H.S. Plans
(New Zealand Press Association) DUNEDIN, November 18.
A striking £30.000 grandstand fronting Littlebourne ground has been chosen as a project to mark the centennial of the Otago Boys’ High School in August, 1963. The grandstand will be of modern design with seating for more than 500 spectators, dressing accommodation and facilities for referees and six teams, and a large central social hall or cafeteria.
Preliminary work for the centenary has been going ahead for some time already, the rector (Mr E. J. Aim) said today. The celebrations will be held in the first week of August, 1963. from a Friday to Tuesday. Hundreds of old boys throughout New Zealand are already known to be coming to the celebrations and a number who are living overseas will be making return trips to coincide with the event.
The school is fourth in age among New Zealand secondary schools—being preceded only by Christ’s College, Wanganui Collegiate School and Nelson College.
