Seasonal Boom
Furniture traders in Christchurch are noting a seasonal build-up in retail purchasing.
The last quarter of each year is invariably a better business period for them than any of the other quarters.
This year it will be particularly welcome because of the decline in turnover from 1957 to 1960, as shown by official statistics.
In the first three months of this year Christchurch stores did £517,000 worth of business, and trading in the next comparable period (to June 30 this year) amounted to £623,000.
