Mr Holloway At Auckland
(New Zealand Press Association) AUCKLAND, Nov. 15. At St. Heliers tonight the Minister of Industries and Commerce (Mr Holloway) clashed with a band of vocal youths who spread themselves through an audience of 140.
As the chairman was introducing Mr Holloway a youth sang out with a reference to a Court action in which Mr Holloway had been involved. There were angry murmurs in the hall. Mr Holloway began to speak immediately. “You know,” he said, smiling, “I like a joke as much as anyone else. “If the member of the audience meant that as a joke, I will laugh with him. If he thought he was being clever Hl ask him to stand and show himself to the audience." A young man stood and bowed to the crowd, laughing. There were several boos. Mr Holloway dealt with each point as it was raised by interjectors during his address.
