LAMB EXPORTS TO AMERICA

“No Substantial Market”

The New Zealand Meat Producers’ Board is of opinion that no substantial market exists for lamb in North America. The “Meat Producer,” official journal of the board, reports that the board has passed the following resolution:

“(1) That in the opinion of tne board no substantial market for New Zealand lamb exists in the Dominions. of Canada and Newfoundland or in the United States of America (such territories being hereinafter in this resolution together referred to as ‘North America’). “(2) That from and after January 1, 1961, no New Zealand lamb shall be exported from New Zealand for North America except by or through the Meat Export Development Company (N.Z.), Ltd.” The Meat Export Development Company is the organisation in which the Meat Board and New Zealand-owned freezing companies are co-operating to explore and promote hew markets for New Zealand meat
