NAGLE LEAVES FOR N.Z.
Attempt To Win Third Open (N.Z. Freis Association— Copyright) SYDHZY, November 6. The British open golf champion, Kel Nagle, will leave tomorrow for New Zealand. Nagle will play in the <l2OO sponsored tournament at Paraparaumu and the New Zealand open at Invercargill. He will be attempting to win his third New Zealand open. Nagle won in 1957 and 1958, and was runner-up to Peter Thomson last year.
Thomson, tour times British open champion, also won the New Zealand open in 1950-51-53, and will be defending the title at Invercargill. Sydney’s Beverley Park professional, Bill McWilliam, will also play in the Paraparaumu tournament and in the New Zealand open. It is possible that Nagle will play an exhibition match at Palmerston North.
