U.S. CONGRESS CANDIDATE
N.Z. Man Born On West Coast
A New Zealander is a Democratic candidate for Congress in the United States elections this year. He is Mr E. O. Anderson, who was bom on the West Coast at Moonlight, and educated at Greymouth. Mr Anderson, who is a Democratic candidate for Washington State, won the primary election, gaining highest place out of seven candidates. Next month he and a fellow Democrat will run against two Republicans for the two Washington seats.
Mr Anderson was bom at Moonlight and educated at the Marist Brothers’ High School at Grey■mouth. Before going to the United States, he worked for some time in the Greymouth Post Office. He was Grays Harbour County flood control supervisor for eight years, and for a time was chairman of the Puget Sound Flood Control Council.
Mr Anderson has been employed as chief engineer, construction foreman, logging operator and purchasing agent, and at present he is store manager and purchasing agent for the Aloha Lumber Corporation.
