TV Tube Production In New Zealand
(New Zealand Press Association) WELLINGTON, October 14. The Minister of Customs (Mr Boord) reaffirmed today that television tubes would be produced in New Zealand. He did not anticipate there would be any local manufacture this year—"but we are going to produce them all right.*’ He understood an Australian firm was establishing itself in New Zealand and discussions were going on at present with other interested parties. The firm had indicated it would need to produce 8000 tubes a year, as a minimum economic output, Mr Boord said.
