MORE CIGARETTES PRODUCED
Record New Zealand Output Production of cigarettes in New Zealand continues to .run at record levels this year. In the eight months ended August 4,641,0001 b were produced, compared with 3,864,0001 b in the same period of 1959. Total production in 1959, 6,165,0001 b, was the highest annual total ever recorded. Tobacco production totalled 3,299,0001 b in the first eight months this year, compared with 3,238,0001 b in the ‘ same period of 1959. Cigarette production in August totalled 716,0001 b, compared with 448,0001 b in August of 1959. Tobacco production totalled 465,0001 b compared with 429,0001 b.
