LOADING BULK WHEAT INTO WAGGON.—This photograph shows the bulk-wheat motor-lorry of Messrs G. D. Gilianders and Sons at the Darfield railway station. The Vshaped galvanised iron hopper, or tank, on the lorry has an auger set into its base to carry the wheat to a delivery tube, which also has an auger. This arrangement allows the wheat to be delivered into a railway waggon from ordinary ground level.
