Athletics At Rawhiti
As part of the New Brighton centennial celebrations, the New Brighton Amateur Athletic Club will hold a meeting today on the new track at Rawhiti Domain. Athletes from West Coast, Wellington, South Canterbury and Canterbury clubs have been invited to take part in a programme which includes both track and field events. A feature event will be a threemile steeplechase. The track is 352 yards, five laps to a mile, and rather than run a quarter-mile race the organisers will stage a single lap event. In the evening a dance will be held for visiting athletes.
