Duties will lie in the diagnostic work of the Neurosurgical Unit and in the general care of patients rather than in operative work. As the unit admits over 500 cases a year, the Registrar will gain excellent experience in clinical neurology; he will also be encouraged to take an interest in the work of the neuroradiological and electroencephalographic departments and in the unit’s schemes of clinical investigation. This post provides experience of value either as part of a general medical training or as a preliminary to further specialist study in neurology or neurosurgery.
